She Think She Grown

This is a journey of my search for womanhood when childhood memories keep reoccuring. Watch me search for the role girls are expected to fill and how to deal with the process of properly fitting into a woman’s shoes. What does being grown mean in the context of the world? She Thinks She Grown, but is she really? Or just a child trapped in a woman’s body?

If I Eat, Then You Eat
Solo performance in development that focuses on the social issue of homelessness. How do we as a society deal with our needy?  What is their story of their circumstance? I wanted to explore the issue from the political as well as personal eye. There is humor, sadness, and social commentary on the war on poverty.

Who is Shannon Matesky?
Solo performance in development telling a story of my search for racial identity and where I fit in the world. Dealing with the construct of identification, the piece challenges the labels we attach to ourselves to feel ‘normal’ or a part of something. In finding out Who Shannon Matesky? I find that  I Am, just am, and cannot be defined.
