Shannon Matesky is involved in many different types of performance. Growing up a youth slam poet, Shannon has a style of spit you cant quite put your finger on. Her poetry is influenced by performance poets such as Marc Bamuthi Joseph, Rachel McKibbens, and Saul Williams. Trained in theater her poetry has taken a route towards persona and character but still has a vein of personal narrative and slam.
Shannon has been trained in many different styles and techniques of theater. She uses all of her training to influence all of her theatrical work. Her theatrical training has included but is not limited to:
