Ove the Past few months I have been honored to portray Pearl in Frank Galati’s adaption of E.L. Doctorrow’s “The March” at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago. Pearl is a bi-racial emancipated slave girl that gets swept up, as a means of survival in the heat of General Sherman’s march through the south to expidite the Civil War. This has been an amazing journey as cast and crew bring a war so close to home to a stage in our own backyards. Many ressonances of the catastrophe have sparked conversation for audience and cast, it is a study that continues of a wound, we as a country, have never healed. Join us in the last week of the production, closing this Sunday June 10th.
