Your Stupid Mouth

So we all know that racism and sexism both are major issues for society. John Mayer made some not-so-smart comments yesterday that alluded to his true point of view women and more specifically black women. Now, who knows what was a joke or not, but lets be real every joke is a half truth. So which half do we take as true? Either way what he said was wrong no doubt.

In responce the general public has ripped him apart via twitter/blogs/news etc. but few have reached out. If he does really feel this way the most proactive way to help change those views is share with him why they are wrong and why they hurt. If we keep silent, or talk about him behind his back about how bad he is, aren’t we giving him a stronger reason to dislike black people? Or all people? Lets hit him up directly via twitter since we have that option and tell him. If we dont take racism personal and share the pain that comes from it the person dishing it doesnt understand the impact. If he can’t see the effects on his fans directly he wont see how deep it burns.

Anytime we deal with racism or sexism don’t be passive aggressive. Get human, real quick. Let your heartstrings show and tell the story of the broken chord. Thats the only way they will understand how they played a part in interrupting your song.
